This Privacy Policy explains how Resa Choose Your Cars Pvt. Ltd. ("Verev", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, stores and protects your information when you use the Verev website, mobile applications and services (the "Platform"). It is published in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules thereunder and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act").
By using the Platform you consent to the collection and use of your information as described here and in our Terms & Conditions and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Information you provide: name, mobile number, email, city/location, and — when you list or sell a vehicle — vehicle details, registration (RC) and related documents, and identity/KYC documents where required.
- Enquiry & transaction data: the vehicles you view/enquire about, callback and test-drive requests, messages, and details of services you purchase.
- Financial data: when you use loan/insurance or paid services, limited payment references processed by our payment partners. We do not store your full card/bank credentials.
- Technical & usage data: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, identifiers, pages viewed, referring URLs, and interactions, collected via cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).
- Location data: approximate location (from your IP, or precise location if you grant permission) to show relevant nearby listings.
- Communications: records of your interactions with our support and grievance channels.
2How we use your information
We use your information to provide and improve the Platform, on the basis of your consent and our legitimate purposes, including to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you (including OTP verification);
- Publish and route your listings and enquiries to the relevant Sellers/dealers and partners;
- Facilitate discovery, verification, valuation, test drives and third-party services (loans, insurance);
- Process payments and provide receipts;
- Personalise content, recommend vehicles and improve our features and search;
- Communicate with you about enquiries, transactions, service updates and — with your consent — promotions;
- Detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents and violations of our Terms;
- Comply with legal, regulatory, tax and law-enforcement obligations.
5Data security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational security measures — including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls and secure hosting — designed to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss, consistent with the "reasonable security practices" standard under Indian law. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
6Data retention
We retain your information only for as long as necessary to provide the Platform, to fulfil the purposes described here, and to comply with legal, accounting, tax or regulatory obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When no longer required, we delete or anonymise it.
7Your rights & choices
Subject to applicable law, including the DPDP Act, you may:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed;
- Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Erase your data where it is no longer required and retention is not mandated by law;
- Withdraw consent at any time (this will not affect processing already carried out, and may limit our ability to provide certain services);
- Opt out of promotional messages via the unsubscribe link or by contacting us;
- Nominate an individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity;
- Grieve — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (below).

8Children
The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9Third-party links & services
The Platform may link to third-party websites, dealers, lenders, insurers or services that are not operated by Verev and are governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices; please review their policies before sharing information with them.
10Storage & transfer
Your information is primarily stored on servers located in India. Where any processing or storage occurs outside India (for example, via a service provider), we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards and comply with applicable law.
